ICC Region II issues a proclamation supporting the International Code Council’s new Military Families Career Path program. This great new pogram helps veternas and their families transition into new careers as code officials.
This week Region II added two new Veteran Mentees to the program when I visited Redmond Oregon and did a presentation to the State of Oregon Employment Department’s Veterans Outreach program at Worksource Oregon. This meeting led to Veterans, Todd North and Steven Fredrickson signing up for the program and beginning a mentorship and career transition program.
While visiting the Central Oregon Chapter of the ICC earlier that day I did a full presentation on the ICC Military Families Career Path program and they agreed to allow these military veteran families to do ride a longs, to help train them and to assist them with their training and employment searches.
“This is a great step forward for veterans and shows the dedication and appreciation of code officials throughout ICC Region II and across the nation. Together we can all ensure the next generation of code officials is well trained, certified and ready to protect the public where we live, eat, work and play.” “This is truly a win-win for veterans.” Jack Applegate, President ICC Region II
“Jack, I’d like to take a moment again to thank you for visiting with us on Thursday afternoon of last week. The response I received from the Veterans that attended was very positive and they are highly motivated to pursue the program.” Paul Messett, Worksource Oregon, Disabled Veterans Outreach Representative, Central Oregon.
What a great program with full support from the Region II Board of Directors. Pass this along to anyone who you know could benefit from this program.
